The founding house. Built on the eastern arcade of the Place Vendôme in the reign of Napoléon III and taken into the register in 1892. The Salon des Miroirs, the private courtyard and the fourth-floor Apartement d'Angle are national monuments; the House is their custodian, not their proprietor.
An Edwardian town-house of five bays, entered under a stone portico and set behind its own garden square. Guests are received in the library; keys are still cut on the premises. The address is given only in correspondence.
The former imperial guest wing of the Hofburg, entrusted to the House by decree of Franz Joseph in 1911 and administered without interruption since. The chandelier of the Grand Salon has hung, unlit and lit, for one hundred and eleven consecutive years.
A late eighteenth-century merchant estate at the foot of Higashiyama, taken into the register in 1956 and tended by three successive families of custodians. The garden is drawn twice a year, by hand, and any repair must match the drawing.
A colonial palace on the sea wall, restored between 1962 and 2004, plaster by plaster and shutter by shutter. The library holds the largest private collection of nineteenth-century Cuban maps.
